Get Confirmation ID Online

For when standard online activation doesn't complete automatically.

Most Windows and Office activations complete automatically over the internet in seconds. Occasionally — usually on a network with restricted outbound access, or during a clean install before drivers are configured — automatic activation fails and Windows falls back to phone activation, which uses an Installation ID and a matching Confirmation ID. This is a normal Microsoft process, not a sign of a bad key.

How phone/ID-based activation works

  1. Open the activation troubleshooter: Settings → System → Activation → Troubleshoot, or run slui.exe 4 from the Run dialog on older Windows builds.
  2. Choose the phone activation option. Windows displays a long Installation ID — a string of numbers grouped in blocks.
  3. Use Microsoft's activation service (by phone, or through the linked online activation portal where available in your region) and provide the Installation ID.
  4. Microsoft returns a matching Confirmation ID. Enter it back into the activation wizard exactly as given.
  5. Activation completes immediately once a valid Confirmation ID is accepted.

If the Confirmation ID is rejected

A rejected Confirmation ID almost always means the Installation ID was mistyped or the key has already reached its activation limit. Double-check every digit was entered correctly first. If the key is genuinely exhausted or invalid, this is exactly the scenario the Refund Policy's DOA replacement covers — contact info@blacksaints.co with the order ID.

Black Saints supplies the genuine key. The Installation ID / Confirmation ID exchange itself is run entirely by Microsoft's own activation service, not by Black Saints.
